Executive Director Appointment
We are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has selected Delia Parker Ulima as our next Executive Director.
The board worked hard to ensure that the values, culture, and mission of EPIC will always be nurtured in our organization. They opened discussion about the process and the needs of our organization to EPIC leadership and staff and with the help of Inkenin, a robust Executive Search produced a talented list of candidates, which were considered by the Board.
Delia assumed the role of Executive Director on June 3, 2024. Our current Executive Director Laurie Arial Tochiki will stay on as Senior Advisor until mid-July to assist with the transition. We have been preparing for this transition for some time and are in a strong position to put in place a new generation of leadership. This is a time of growth and strength for EPIC.
Delia has been the Manager of HI H.O.P.E.S, a Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative, at EPIC ‘Ohana since 2009. She and Jeanne Hamilton envisioned the program and nurtured HI H.O.P.E.S to be a thriving initiative that advocates, educates, and collaborates with and on behalf of young people who have experienced foster care. Delia is very well loved as the HI H.O.P.E.S “mama bear.”
Delia has a law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law; a Masters in Pacific Island Studies and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the University of Hawai‘i; and a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University Hawai‘i.
