‘Ohana Conferencing
‘Ohana Conferencing is a collaborative effort that brings together families, extended and hanai family, CWS, service providers, and the support system of children who are involved with CWS. Every family has strengths. Every family has a voice.
An ‘Ohana Conference is a safe place for important and respectful dialogue. It allows opportunities for the family to work with CWS in order to make the best decisions for the safety of their children, while also creating a plan for strengthening the family unit. It is strengths-based, solution-focused, and honors the voice of the family and young people in care. The ‘Ohana Conference is grounded in the core goals and values of child safety, preserving family relationships, and timely permanent placement of children. EPIC ‘Ohana, Inc. is the only organization in the State of Hawai‘i providing family engagement services of this kind.
