Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Independent Living Collaborator (ILC) Manager is to ensure successful implementation of the Independent Living Collaborator program, including but not limited to: work group convening and facilitation, outreach and networking with DHS and partner organizations, and oversight of the ILC Specialist. Provide ongoing information/training for identified partners as well as on other topics and issues to which EPIC has access that affect and support all parties involved in Independent Living/Higher Education/Imua Kākou services. Support partners in their needs and requests of EPIC to the best of your ability. Convene and facilitate work groups to meet the goals of the Independent Living Collaborator program. Establish and maintain relationships with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and other community organizations to meet community needs. Responsible for supervision of the ILC Specialist and any other employees or subcontractors under the Independent Living Collaborator program. Work closely with the Deputy Director and ILC Evaluation Manager to analyze needs and the community to determine program direction and goals. Plan, prepare, administer, and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records, equipment, support services, and/or training manuals as required by contract or as requested by Executive Director. The ideal ILC Manager has a strong combination of the following mind-set, experience and skills: Experience in positive youth development and youth-adult partnership approaches; Experience and knowledge of child welfare; Facilitation and collaboration skills; Leadership and management experience; Systems change experience; and Ability to communicate effectively with youth and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning, Master’s degree is preferred; and A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of case management experience or human services related experience and/or training. Must have an understanding of group work and child welfare. Must be willing to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction. Must be able to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Must be able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time. Must be able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the goals of the Youth-Serving programs. Decisive and able to make tough decisions as required. Committed to quality and performance improvement. Individual with experience working with families whose children have been harmed or threatened with harm and in facilitation and/or mediation, preferred. Current First Aid and CPR certification, training will be provided. Must maintain an ethical, responsible and professional attitude and demeanor under all circumstances in person, by phone, email and correspondence, in order to effectively and efficiently engage and maintain working relationships with families, professionals, who are undergoing complex and crisis situations. Individual with culturally relevant training and/or experience specific to the community served, preferred. Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and maturity. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System; or successful waiver of these requirements by Child Welfare System. Valid driver’s license, no-fault automobile insurance, acceptable motor vehicle abstract, and access to an insured, reliable vehicle is needed.
