Facilitator, 'Ohana Conferencing (Full-Time, Honolulu)

Job Summary:
The ‘Ohana Conferencing Facilitator (OC) Facilitator provides professional, productive, efficient, respectful, compassionate and safe ‘Ohana Conferences and Re-conferences for family, social workers and service providers using a strengths based, solution focused family group decision making model designed for Hawai‘i families in the Child Welfare system. ‘Ohana Conferencing Facilitators are community members who represent the concern and the commitment of the community to the family and to the children. The Facilitator is a person who is well versed in the formal and informal networks of support and resources available in the community. In addition, the Facilitator is responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing all pre-conference documentation, including consultation with the Coordinator in order to understand family and professional concerns and issues pertaining to the conference. Responsible for timely pre-conference contact with family members and others in order to engage participants. Responsible for understanding the legal status and timelines of the case assigned. Facilitators will use this information to lay a strong foundation for an effective conference. Responsible for meeting deadlines, timely documentation, and database input of case notes and summaries and other required forms and reports. The Facilitator collaborates and consults with the Senior Facilitator and Operations Manager.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and/or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have valid Driver’s license and an acceptable abstract. Must have a strong ability to write reports and correspondence in a timely manner. Must have the ability to speak and communicate clearly and effectively before groups. Ability to be proficient with computer use including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets and database manipulation. Must be flexible with work schedule, pending the need to deliver services outside the normal work shift. Hours may include weekend and evening hours. Required to travel to the neighbor island for Conferences. Conferences are held in all parts of every island, in churches, libraries, and other community locations.
