Hawaii Youth Opportunities Initiative (HYOI) Assistant / Youth Partner, Part-Time (Honolulu)

Job Description:
The HYOI Assistant/ Youth Partner assists Statewide Initiative Coordinators of the Hawaii Youth Opportunities Initiative (EPIC ‘Ohana) with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: general office work (filing, phone calls, faxing, typing, computer work), participating in trainings and other meetings, as deemed appropriate, furthering the youth engagement work of the HYOI in relation to Financial Literacy Trainings, assisting Initiative Coordinators during OPPS (Opportunity Passport Participant Survey) month, opening bank accounts, IDA savings, matches and asset purchase trainings and other youth engagement strategies, as developed. The HYOI Assistant/ Youth Partner assist with locating Youth and collection of data and will be trained on recording for youth circles when needed. They assist with data entry for Youth Circle and `Ohana Conference Departments, assist in media trainings and performs other agency-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: High School Degree with two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The HYOI Assistant/ Youth Partner must be able to write routine reports and correspondence; and, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. This person must be proficient with computer use including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets and data base manipulation. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations (required for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System).
